Dear Sir/Madam, I would appreciate your advice regarding the purchase of a compact SUV for my parents, who are around 65+ years old. The vehicle will mainly be used for commuting within a rural town, with occasional city drives and around 2 airport trips per year. My requirements are: Petrol automatic transmission, Good interior space and comfortable seating for 5 passengers, Good fuel efficiency, Easy and stress-free ownership with long-term reliability, Comfortable ride quality suitable for elderly passengers, and good after-sales support (service centres of major brands are available within 20 km). I am considering models such as the Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun/Kushaq, and similar compact SUVs. Could you please advise which would be the best choice considering space, efficiency, comfort, reliability, and long-term maintenance? Is the Honda Elevate still a good buy compared with the newer competitors? Your suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

The turbo-petrol engine is smooth and refined, and the 6-speed manual gearbox is slick too. Do note, that its clutch effort is low, however the travel is on the longer side and the action is a bit springy - this might take some time to get used to. Overall though, it is quite user-friendly with a light steering, good visibility and its relatively compact dimensions. Also, being a Hyundai, you're backed by its widespread support network, and the ownership experience is likely to be fuss-free.Go for the Honda Elevate only if you value cabin and boot space more. An added advantage of the Elevate is its more responsive naturally aspirated petrol engine, as well as its excellent ride-handling balance. And being a Honda Jazz owner, you're likely to be familiar with Honda's sorted service experience too. The Elevate is a fuss-free, sensible choice, but for a sportier driving feel, and its uniqueness, the Venue N Line gets our vote.

Should safety rating a major consideration for buying a car? I drive a 5 star rated car and I feel safe knowing the car I drive is sturdy and well built. Is it really safe or 5 star rating keeps my mind at peace. I feel it is not emphasized enough. Let's take Creta for example. It is the single most dominant mid size SUVs for a decade now but safety is not there as compared to seltos, Victoris, Elevate, Kushaq or Taigun. Creta still dominates. I understand it is going through a major facelift next year but why wait a decade and still do not have a 5 star rating, not even 4. Low safety rating is then but never tested is not an option. Shouldnt it be made mandatory? What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.
