Toyota Fortuner price in Srinagar
Whether to go 4x2 or 4x4 is the single biggest decision that shapes what the Toyota Fortuner ends up costing in Srinagar, moving the on-road figure more than any accessory pack a dealer might add on. Only once that call is settled does the city's on-road math come into play: RTO registration, insurance and other statutory charges sit on top of the ex-showroom price, and on a body-on-frame SUV of this size that gap runs into several lakh rupees. The base model, 2.7 Petrol 4x2 AT, carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 34.76 lakh in Srinagar, working out to Rs. 40.15 lakh on-road once these charges are added.
An EMI of Rs. 58,082 against a loan of Rs. 36,10,000 is what financing the 2.7 Petrol 4x2 AT works out to, a useful starting point before deciding whether a manual or automatic diesel, or a step up to 4x4, justifies the extra outlay in Srinagar.

If you really want a Toyota Fortuner, but your use case is short drives within city limits over limited distances, then you can consider its petrol variant. Moreover, if you need an automatic Fortuner but would rather not spend another Rs 2.85 lakh or so for the equivalent diesel option, then the case for the petrol-powered version grows stronger. If none of these factors apply to you, skip the petrol version altogether.
All things considered, the mild-hybrid 4x2 variant with the automatic gearbox represents a better value for money over the ones with the 4x4 system. This will ensure lower fuel consumption without hampering drivability over the course of your ownership. Understandably, you will also save on the upfront and long-term costs associated with the latter.
If you value a modern feature set, good ride quality and handling dynamics, lower fuel consumption and outright comfort with the option of seven seats, you can find all those in the Toyota Fortuner's monocoque rivals such as the Jeep Meridian and MG Majestor. The price premium the Fortuner commands does come with benefits like long-term reliability, strong resale value and Toyota's expansive service network.
Hi Autocar! I want to buy the Toyota Fortuner Legender 4x2 and was initially planning to purchase it in February 2027. However, there are reports that a new version of the Fortuner could launch in late 2026 or early 2027. When should I book the current-generation Fortuner so that I can avoid buying the facelifted version?
If you want to buy the current Toyota Fortuner Legender 4x2 and avoid the new generation, the best approach is to bring your purchase forward rather than delay it. The new Fortuner is expected in late 2026 or early 2027, and Toyota typically manages inventory carefully around a major model change. If you wait until February 2027, you risk being caught in the transition period when the new model arrives, and the current generation is phased out.The safest window is to book the car in the second half of 2026, ideally between July and October. This gives you a strong chance of securing a current-generation car while production is still running and before dealers start winding down stock. If you are set on the current model, it is better to buy a few months earlier than planned rather than risk missing out altogether.
I do a lot of highway driving and need a balance of power and comfort. I am unable to decide within a budget range of Rs. 30-35 lakh. However, I am tempted to pick up a second-hand Toyota Fortuner. What are the available options?
For heavy highway use with a budget of Rs 30-35 lakh, the Mahindra XUV 7XO diesel is the best fit. It offers strong performance, excellent ride comfort and a very stable high-speed touring experience, which is exactly what you need for long highway runs. The diesel engine is powerful and efficient, and the car feels planted and confidence-inspiring at speed. It also offers a good balance of features and safety for the price. The Toyota Fortuner is a great car, but at Rs 30-35 lakh you are looking at a used car that is already a few years old. The Fortuner’s biggest strength is its reliability and ruggedness, but it is not as refined or as comfortable as the XUV 7XO on long highway drives. The ride is firm, the cabin is not as modern, and you are paying a premium for the Toyota badge and reliability rather than getting the best ownership experience for your money. If you want something more premium, the Skoda Kodiaq is worth considering. It is a very comfortable and refined highway car with a strong petrol engine and a premium cabin, but it exceeds budget and does not offer the same diesel efficiency as the XUV 7XO.Overall, the XUV 7XO diesel is the best balance of power, comfort and value for your budget. It is a new car with a full warranty, excellent highway manners and a very strong ownership proposition.
New Mini Countryman: 1.5L, 3-cylinder at ~₹57 lakh and having power = Creta. Why Fortuner gets called overpriced for a 2.8L engine at similar money. Thoughts?
I am a doctor and my annual driving is 10,000 km . buget is 50 - 60 lakh . looking for an SUV which is 7/8 seater , comfortable , should have a good resale value , reliable . driving is on highway should have excellent pick up. options in my mind is Toyota Fortuner 4x2 (2WD) upcoming model, skoda kodiaq rs . please advise me genuinely ,honest, unbiased opinion
Hi, I have a budget of Rs. 40 lakh and am confused between the Skoda Kodiaq Lounge, the Toyota Innova Hycross ZX(O), and the Toyota Fortuner Petrol. I am 28 years old and want a car that is fun to drive but also comfortable for my family. My driving will be split 80:20 between on-road and off-road use.
Pick the Innova HyCross ZX(O). For a hard Rs. 40 lakh cap it fits cleanly, it is the most comfortable and spacious for family, and it is far easier to live with daily. The smooth hybrid makes city drives effortless and quiet, and on broken roads, it just takes the abuse without rattling everyone. Your 20 percent off-road sounds like rough trails rather than rock crawling, and the HyCross will handle that sort of bad-road stuff better than you expect. But, the Innova isn't particularly fun to drive. If you really crave driver fun, the Kodiaq is the one that puts a smile on your face. This Skoda car has a 2-litre turbo petrol and AWD make it genuinely enjoyable on highways and hills, and the cabin feels richer. Two catches, though. It likely stretches past Rs. 40 lakh on-road in most cities, and its third row is tighter, and you have to be a bit careful off the beaten path. The Fortuner petrol is the most capable off-road, but for 80 per cent on-road use, it feels heavy and bouncy, the steering is not friendly in town, and it guzzles fuel.
