2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition launched

Toyota has launched the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition. The manual variant is priced at Rs 36.51 lakh and the automatic at Rs 38.72 lakh (both ex-showroom). This special edition brings cosmetic changes to the exterior and interior, but is otherwise mechanically unchanged over other 4x2 (two-wheel drive) versions of the Fortuner. Bookings will open on October 12, 2026. There have been Leader Editions of the Fortuner in 2024 and 2025, though these arrived as dealer-level options.

  • Unique blacked-out grille, new 18-inch black alloys and a dual-tone black roof.
  • Dual-tone black & maroon upholstery, matching door trims and illuminated door sills.
  • Features include ambient lighting, auto-folding ORVMs and TPMS.

Changes over the standard versions are largely cosmetic

There are a few noticeable changes over a standard Fortuner. The 2026 Leader Edition comes with a different front grille design finished in black, a more aggressive-looking front bumper with black and silver trim, and bold ‘TOYOTA’ lettering on the bonnet. There are also 18-inch alloy wheels finished in black, along with a dual-tone black roof and a tailgate also featuring black trim.

The interior of the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition sports dual-tone black & maroon upholstery and matching door trims. It also gets ambient lighting and illuminated door sills. Other features offered with the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition include auto-folding ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors) and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The ambient lighting aside, almost all of the other features were available with the 2025 Leader Edition too.

2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition powertrain

The Leader Edition continues to be powered by the familiar 2.8-litre diesel engine

Under the bonnet sits the familiar four-cylinder diesel engine that powers much of the Fortuner range. It has a peak output of 204hp and 500Nm when mated to the 6-speed automatic gearbox – the torque figure drops to 420Nm when paired with the 6-speed manual transmission. The 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition is only available with two-wheel drive (4x2).

All prices are ex-showroom.
