Go for the Mahindra XUV 3XO AX7 AT at Rs 14.5 lakh on-road. The Honda City ZX CVT is a great car, but at Rs 17.5 lakh on-road, it is a significant step up in price, and the XUV 3XO is simply the better value proposition here. The AX7 AT is a well-equipped variant, and the 3XO is one of the most spacious compact SUVs in the segment, with a wide cabin that makes it a genuinely comfortable five-seater. It also offers strong performance, a good feature set and a solid ownership proposition. The Honda City ZX CVT is the more refined and more premium-feeling car, but the price difference is difficult to justify, especially when the 3XO is already a significant upgrade from your Tiago. As far as the exchange goes, try getting your Tiago evaluated on other used car platforms, such as Spinny instead - you could get a better price than what the Mahindra dealer offered.

The Brezza LXI Turbo is far superior to the Punch and Tiago as far as smoothness, performance, and cabin space are concerned. It is also backed by Maruti's widespread support network, and the ownership experience is likely to be fuss-free. The on-road cost of the Brezza LXI will fall within your Rs 9 lakh budget, and even though you might miss a few features, it still feels worth opting for. Alternatively, you could also consider the Maruti Dzire VXI MT for its large boot, comfy ride and strong fuel efficiency.

It is a significant upgrade from the Tiago, offering a much larger cabin, a more powerful turbo petrol engine and a genuinely premium feel for the money. The 3XO is one of the most spacious compact SUVs in the segment, with a wide rear bench that makes it a comfortable five-seater, and the AX7 variant is well-equipped without pushing you beyond your budget. The Brezza ZXi+ at Rs 15 lakh is also a strong option, but the 3XO simply offers more car for the money in terms of performance and overall value. The 3XO's turbo petrol engine will make those occasional weekend trips more enjoyable. The only drawback is that the boot is on the smaller side but unless you regularly travel with a lot of luggage, it should not be a deal-breaker.

Go for the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 1.2 AMT. As a first-time buyer in Noida with a Rs 5-9 lakh budget, the Wagon R is the most sensible choice. This Maruti Suzuki car is extremely easy to drive, has a tall-boy design that gives you excellent visibility and a comfortable seating position, and offers genuinely good space for a small family. The AMT is smooth enough for city use, and Maruti’s service network and low maintenance costs make ownership hassle-free. It is also one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the segment, which keeps running costs low.The Tata Tiago AMT is the better car to drive, with a more solid feel and better ride quality, but it does not match the Wagon R for ease of ownership, service reach or fuel efficiency. The Celerio AMT is also a good option, but the Wagon R’s taller cabin, more powerful 1.2-litre engine option and better rear seat space make it the more practical choice. On E20, there is no need to worry. All new cars are engineered to handle E20 fuel, and while you may see a slight drop in fuel efficiency, it will not ruin the engine. The impact is minor and not a reason to avoid buying a new car.
