Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric
Bookings for the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric are currently underway across India, ahead of its launch on November 4. The Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is expected to be priced between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 90 lakh, ex-showroom. It will rival the BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase, set to launch here in 2027. It's built on an all-electric platform, and it’s longer, wider and has a slightly larger wheelbase than the combustion-run GLC SUV.
It will be offered in the 400 4Matic variant. In international markets, this variant gets a 94kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. The dual-motor AWD setup produces 490hp and 800Nm of torque, allowing the SUV to go from 0-100kph in a claimed 4.3 seconds. The claimed WLTP range is 715km.
The GLC Electric supports DC fast charging at up to 330kW, which can add a claimed 300km of range in 10 minutes. The international-spec 400 4Matic also gets rear-wheel steering and air suspension as standard.
The GLC EV gets a large front grille with rounded edges and illuminated elements, along with tri-star-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) and projector LED headlights. The side profile is relatively simpler, with alloy wheels of up to 21 inches, flush-fitting door handles and slim cladding around the wheel arches. At the rear, it gets star-shaped LED tail-lights with circular outlines. While the front Mercedes logo is illuminated, the rear gets a 3D badge.
Inside, it has a 39.1-inch Hyperscreen setup, which combines the driver’s display, infotainment screen and front passenger display into one unit. The system runs the fourth-generation MBUX interface and has a built-in AI assistant. The SUV has a five-seat layout.

Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric What to Expect
8.0
The GLC EV gets a striking upright grille with 942 lighting elements, an illuminated three-pointed star and distinctive LED signatures. It retains the ICE GLC’s curvy profile but has an 84mm longer wheelbase. A 129-litre frunk adds practicality, while the boot offers 570 litres of space.
8.0
The highlight inside is the 39-inch Hyperscreen, which stretches across the dashboard. Cabin quality feels suitably premium, with open-pore wood and physical rotary controls on the steering wheel. The front seats get powered adjustment, heating and massage, while the rear offers generous space and good foot room. However, the rear seat is best suited to two occupants.
9.0
The GLC EV gets a panoramic glass roof with individually adjustable transparency, a Burmester 4D sound system, head-up display and advanced cameras. Its AI assistant supports natural conversations, while the safety kit includes nine airbags, ESC and a full suite of ADAS features. However, the touchscreen relies heavily on digital controls.
9.0
The GLC 400 produces 489hp and 800Nm from its dual-motor setup, enabling a 0-100kph sprint in 4.3 seconds. Performance is brisk yet effortless, while the cabin remains impressively quiet. A two-speed gearbox aids both acceleration and relaxed cruising, and the regenerative braking system includes one-pedal driving and an intelligent mode.
8.0
The 94kWh battery delivers a claimed WLTP range of 715km, with a real-world range of over 550km expected. It supports up to 22kW AC and 330kW DC charging, with a 10-80 percent charge possible in a claimed 22 minutes under ideal conditions.
8.0
The GLC EV feels planted at high speeds, with reassuring steering weight. Its ride is not especially soft, and bump absorption on rough roads remains to be assessed in India. Air suspension can adjust ride height and damping using navigation and vehicle-to-vehicle information, while rear-wheel steering helps at low speeds.

Expected to cost around Rs 85 lakh-90 lakh, the GLC EV will be locally assembled in India, helping keep pricing competitive with the ICE GLC. It combines strong performance, refinement and impressive technology, making it a compelling luxury electric SUV. The BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase and Audi Q6 e-tron are alternatives to watch for in 2027.
