The electric range is very impressive, with cutting-edge technology. It combines luxury and innovation, giving a royal feeling, plus a good boot space of 645 liters.

The real-world range on the highway doesn't exceed 450 km. 800 km is far from what the company claims. Mercedes seems to expect us to drive without passengers and an empty boot in an SUV.

This is the best Mercedes I have ever driven, truly the greatest of great. The interiors impress everyone. We previously had a BMW X4, which was a beast in performance, but this one looks good too.

This car looks good and has a nice range. It's not aggressive but perfect for a family car. For a sportier look, there are other options. It doesn't scream wow, but it's okay; it has a rounded design, which is what we expect from the EQS. Overall, it's a nice car.

I really like this SUV, but it's out of my budget. I admire many car brands, but Mercedes Benz stands out for me. Their cars have an awesome style and look. If I can buy a car in the future, it will definitely be a Mercedes Benz. It's my dream car company!

Leader in comfort, this car has a long life span after charging. I really enjoy the ride. In the EV sector, it's the best with a cool design. Battery life meets my expectations, and charging is fast since it's a new car. I believe Benz will dominate the EV market. I love this car and recommend everyone to buy it.

Great car, amazing experience. This is the best electric vehicle, with a really nice driving feel and quick charging. It looks luxurious too. The white color is super sleek. The minimum range is 730, but the company claims it's 800.

I want to buy a 7-seater SUV EV. I can make the purchase anytime within the next six months. My priority is a real-world driving range of over 600 km. Which model would you recommend?

Unfortunately, there are very few EVs that will give you a real-world range of 600km - even though their official rating says so - and fewer still with a 7-seat layout. The only one that fits the bill is the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, whose price is around Rs 1.5 crore. If that fits your budget, then go for it, as it is one of the best luxury EVs you can buy in India today. The other three-row EVs lower down are the Tesla Model Y L (6 seater) and the Mahindra XEV 9S (6/7 seater). Both have official ratings of over 650km, but the real-world range is likely to be more in the region of 500km. In our real-world range test, the XEV 9S with the largest (79kWh) battery pack returned 477km overall, and while we haven't range tested the Model Y L, previous Tesla models have proven quite efficient. If your budget can accommodate the Tesla at around Rs 65 lakh, you should get it. If not, the Mahindra at around Rs 22-32 lakh should be adequate.

I am looking to purchase a vehicle worth around ₹1.5 crore. What are the best options in the market with good after-sales service?

There are plenty of options available within your budget of Rs 1.5 crore from brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Lexus, Land Rover and Maserati. However, since after-sales support is a key priority for you, we would recommend opting for Mercedes-Benz and BMW cars. These manufacturers have the widest service footprint among luxury carmakers, and since the majority of their products are locally assembled, parts are in ready supply. From Mercedes's line-up, we suggest that you consider the GLS from the ICE line-up or the electric EQS SUV. The best options from BMW for the money are the X7 and the all-electric iX. You could also consider the Toyota Vellfire. It's a supremely comfortable MPV with Toyota's bulletproof reliability.

I am planning to buy a luxury EV and am confused between the EQS 450, BMW iX xDrive 50, Macan Electric, and Audi e-tron SUV. This car will be for my wife, who is constantly on the move and meets HNIs regularly. The car will be chauffeur-driven. My priorities are: 1. Image 2. Range 3. Resale 4. Comfort 5. Tech Please suggest which one to buy.

All are excellent choices in this price range, but we can narrow it down. All of them pack large batteries and have good range, so that is the least of your worries. The Porsche Macan EV is high on image value, but as a primarily chauffeur-driven car, it's not great, with ride comfort and back seat space not as good as the rest. The Audi Q8 e-tron has arguably the best back seat and ride comfort of the lot, but it is dated now and is the lowest on flash value, and looks understated like a regular Audi car SUV, and isn't packing the latest tech. The BMW iX xDrive 50 EV is an excellent all-rounder that's powerful and great to drive, but while quirky and interesting, it doesn't quite have the presence to make a strong statement. The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV 450, then, should be your pick. It offers good space and comfort in the second row, excellent range, great image and presence, and loads of tech, including Mercedes' much vaunted 'hyperscreen' dashboard. Resale value is still a question mark with EVs, but Mercedes is trying to change that perception with buyback schemes on its electric cars, so be sure to check those out.
