Kia will either localise the Sorento for the Indian market or launch an SUV based on the Sorento's platform for India.

The global-spec model features a 238hp 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid, a 288hp 1.6-litre turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid and a 2.2-litre diesel hybrid. Petrol versions are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel is paired with an 8-speed DCT. AWD is standard across all engines.

While the global-spec model features LED headlights and tail-lights, dual 12.3-inch screens and level 2 ADAS, other possible features include a panoramic sunroof, a privacy glass function for the rear windows and tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera and a head-up display.

The global-spec Sorento is over 4.8 metres long with a 2.8 metre long wheelbase.
