It also benefits from an extensive service network of Toyota cars and its well-earned reputation for long-term reliability.That said, if the purchase isn't urgent, it would be worth waiting a little longer. The next-generation Hilux is expected to arrive in India soon, bringing improvements in comfort, interior space, features, and overall refinement. There's also a good chance it will address some of the ride quality concerns you experienced with the current model. If you can extend your budget further, it’s worth going for the Isuzu D-Max V-cross for your campervan project. Like the Tata and Mahindra, the Isuzu is rugged too but offers a more refined drive experience. It also gets a punchy 163hp, 360Nm 1.9-litre diesel engine and it can even be had with an automatic gearbox for added convenience. As for an electric option, there’s nothing on the horizon just yet. Isuzu did showcase an electric version of the D-Max at the Bharat Mobility Show but it’s unlikely to be launched here.
