Ferrari has revealed the new Amalfi as the successor to the Roma, the Italian brand’s most affordable front-engined grand tourer. The Ferrari Amalfi is priced at Rs 5.59 crore, ex-showroom, India, before options. The Amalfi sits on the Roma’s underpinnings but brings notable upgrades to performance and aerodynamic efficiency. Ferrari will continue selling the Roma Spider alongside the Amalfi until the brand introduces a drop-top Amalfi.

Power comes from Ferrari’s 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8, paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The engine has been reworked to produce 640hp (20hp more than the Roma) while torque remains unchanged at 760Nm. The Amalfi does 0-100kph in 3.3 seconds, 0-200kph in 9 seconds, and has a top speed of 320kph. Design changes are extensive too, Ferrari says every body panel except the glasshouse is new, while the interior gets a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, updated displays and a return to physical steering wheel buttons including a red start/stop button.

The Amalfi rivals the Aston Martin Vantage and the Porsche 911.
