Ferrari has pulled the covers off the Amalfi Spider, the Italian marque’s convertible 2+2-seater GT offering. Save for the roof mechanism, the Spider is mechanically identical to the Ferrari Amalfi coupe, and claims very similar performance figures too.
- Powered by 640hp 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8; 0-100kph in 3.3sec (claimed)
- Soft top takes 13.5sec to open at speeds of up to 60kph
- 2+2 seating layout, gets 10.25-inch touchscreen, 8.8-inch passenger display, etc
Ferrari Amalfi Spider powertrain and performance
Under the bonnet, the Amalfi Spider comes equipped with a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 that churns out 640hp and 760Nm, and is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic. Drive is sent to the rear wheels, allowing for a rated 0-100kph time of 3.3 seconds and a 320kph top speed, which are exactly the same as those of the Amalfi coupe.

This is quite impressive considering the Amalfi Spider tips the scales at 1,556kg – 86kg heavier than its coupe counterpart. However, the Amalfi Spider’s claimed 0-200kph time of 9.4 seconds is 0.4sec longer than the coupe's.
The Amalfi Spider also retains the coupe’s brake-by-wire tech for more precise braking control, as well as an active spoiler that generates up to 110kg of extra downforce at 250kph with less than 4 percent increase in drag.
Ferrari Amalfi Spider exterior and interior

The Amalfi Spider sports a fabric roof that can be had in one of four colours and opens in 13.5 seconds at speeds of up to 60kph. When stowed, this fabric roof is only 220mm thick, allowing for a luggage capacity of 172 litres. With the roof closed, the boot space stands at 255 litres.

Wind deflectors have also been added to the Amalfi Spider’s rear-seat backrests to keep wind noise under control, and the five-layer material used for the fabric roof is claimed to deliver NVH levels comparable to those of a Ferrari hard-top car. The Amalfi Spider otherwise looks identical to the coupe, but Ferrari does offer an exclusive Rosso Tramonto paint finish (pictured above) for the former.

Inside, the Amalfi Spider expectedly features the same 2+2 seating layout as the coupe. The dashboard houses unique curved air vents, a 10.25-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and an 8.8-inch passenger display. There’s also a three-spoke steering wheel with lots of physical controls, a 15.6-inch digital driver’s display, and an aluminium-milled centre tunnel.

Other creature comforts in the Amalfi Spider include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ADAS, connected car tech, adaptive cruise control, powered seats, automatic climate control, a wireless charging pad, and more. Being a Ferrari, the Amalfi Spider’s interior offers lots of personalisation options too.
An India launch has yet to be confirmed for the Amalfi Spider, but the Ferrari Amalfi coupe is set to launch in India this year with a price tag of Rs 5.59 crore (ex-showroom).
