Toyota has launched an updated version of the Innova Hycross in Indonesia. Dubbed the ‘Kijang Innova Zenix’ in that market, it sees no exterior changes but receives a few notable upgrades on the features front. More importantly, this update may partly preview the upcoming Innova Hycross facelift for the Indian market.
Updated Indonesia-spec Toyota Innova Hycross: What’s new?

As noted previously, there are no styling changes on the updated Innova Hycross. Toyota Indonesia does offer ‘Modellista’ accessories to spruce up the look, but the MPV’s core design remains unchanged. However, the India-spec facelift of the Innova Hycross is not likely to follow this philosophy. More on that later.

Inside, higher-spec variants of the updated Innova Hycross come with a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen – up from the prior model’s 10.1-inch display. In-car Wi-Fi is also supported by the 12.3-inch screen. Toyota Indonesia has additionally packed in a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display for the hybrid Innova Hycross variants, while the pure-petrol versions offer a 7-inch display instead – the current India-spec Innova Hycross features analogue dials and a central MID.

What community is saying on the Innova HyCross?
There are no changes on the powertrain front, so much like the India-spec model, the updated Indonesia-spec Innova Hycross continues to offer a 174hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 186hp 2.0-litre four-cylinder strong hybrid powertrain. The pure-petrol mill is paired exclusively with a CVT automatic, while the hybrid is mated to an e-CVT.
Could this preview the upcoming Toyota Innova Hycross facelift for India?
The launch timing of the updated Indonesia-spec Innova Hycross is interesting, as the MPV is set to receive a facelift in India – likely on November 25, 2026. The interior feature upgrades seen in the Indonesian model therefore could make it over to the facelifted India-spec Innova Hycross. However, previous spy shots of Innova Hycross facelift test mules on Indian roads indicate that it will receive styling revisions such as a new grille, sleeker headlamps, redesigned bumpers and updated tail-lamps.

Another big change likely for the upcoming Innova Hycross facelift is a flex-fuel strong hybrid powertrain – the first of its kind to be available in the Indian market. It’s expected to have the same hybrid setup as the current Innova Hycross but with upgrades to the 2.0-litre engine that would allow it to run on various ethanol blends. Precise blend compatibility, however, remains to be seen, as does the question of whether the base non-hybrid variants will be upgraded for flex-fuel operation.
