Renault hits 5 lakh sales milestone in India

Renault India has achieved sales of over 5 lakh in India, becoming one of the fastest automobile brands to hit this milestone. The brand says India is a key market for it and Renault has a clear long-term India strategy in mind.

In India, Renault has established a robust manufacturing facility, a world-class technology centre and is the only global brand to have two design centres in the country. The French carmaker says this strong foundation is backed by its product strategy and customer satisfaction initiatives have been instrumental in achieving this milestone.

Commenting on the milestone, Sumit Sawhney, country CEO and MD, Renault India Operations said, “India is a strategic market for the success of Renault’s medium-term plan. Being local in India is very important and that's why we have a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, a world-class technology centre and we are the only global brand to have two design centres in India. Going forward, we will continue with our product offensive strategy in the country and will work towards substantially growing the Renault brand.”

“Our key focus areas for the company include widening the portfolio across various segments with a strong India strategy, innovations and excellence aimed at enhancing the overall ownership experience and increasing our network reach to ensure ease of access in providing our best-in-class after-sales service experience to customers,” added Sawhney.

To celebrate this sales landmark, Renault introduced several exciting offers. For the Kwid, the company has announced a special finance offer of 3.99 percent interest rate, for a limited period. The brand says the Kwid, that is 98 percent localised, is the most successful ‘Make in India’ story till date. The model has played a big role for the company and has been the volume driver, selling more than 2.75 lakh units. Renault India had launched the new 2018 Kwid in both manual and automated transmission options, and more equipment.

At present Renault’s has a network of over 350 facilities in the country. Its current product portfolio includes Kwid hatchback, Duster SUV, Captur SUV and Lodgy MPV.
