The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid has been revealed as the range-topping version of the sporty, four-door sedan. The Turbo S E-Hybrid gets a 599hp, 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine that’s paired to a 190hp gearbox-mounted electric motor. Total power and torque are 782hp and 1,000Nm, respectively.

  1. Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid sprints from 0-100kph in 2.9 seconds
  2. Holds Nurburgring record for luxury class car with time of 7min 24.17sec
  3. Gets design changes and feature updates over the GTS

Porsche claims that this top-spec Panamera can hit 100kph from standstill in just 2.9 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds quicker than the Turbo E-Hybrid, and matches the furiously quick Ferrari 296 GTB. The powertrain has also enabled the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid to become the fastest luxury class car around Nurburgring Nordschleife, with a time of 7 minutes and 24.17 seconds. This makes it over a second faster than the Tesla Model S Plaid Track Pack and almost six seconds quicker than the previous-generation Panamera.

Porsche test driver Lars Kern set a new record in the new Panamera.

The Turbo S E-Hybrid's 25.9kWh (gross) battery pack is said to go 88km (WLTP) on a single charge, and it can be charged with the standard 11kW AC charger from 0-100 percent in two hours and 39 minutes. Porsche claims a top speed of 325kph, which is an improvement of 25kph over its predecessor.

Compared to the Panamera GTS that’s gone on sale in India for Rs 2.34 crore, the Turbo S E-Hybrid sports different front and rear bumpers, chrome-plated exhaust tips finished in Dark Bronze, ceramic brakes (440mm front/380mm rear) with yellow brake callipers, a Bose sound system, and Turbonite (metallic grey) highlights on the exterior and inside the cabin.

As we had reported earlier, the GTS will be the most powerful Panamera in India as the Turbo models, being hybrids, will not be brought to the country.
