Nissan has unveiled a revised brand logo, which will be rolled-out across its model range. We had previously reported that Nissan had filed for trademark of new logo that was based on the logo present on the 2018 Ariya Concept.

What does the new Nissan logo signify?

The logo is intended to mark a “key milestone” in the Japanese maker’s transformation plans, as it seeks to recover from recent poor results. According to Nissan, the new logo looks towards the future while still staying connected to the company’s past. The new logo replaces the three-dimensional chrome logo with a more minimalist, two-dimensional monochromatic one and will be applied to Nissan models as they are introduced or refreshed.

Have carmakers besides Nissan also recently updated their logo?

A number of car makers have recently revealed new logos, in a bid to revitalise brands in the new age of electric cars. Last year, Volkswagen unveiled a new brand identity alongside its ID 3 electric car. BMW also showed a new two-dimensional logo earlier this year.

Will the new logo be used in India?

Yes. Nissan India's website has already been updated with the new logo. The new logo design may also be used on future Nissan India models, like the upcoming Magnite compact SUV, which has been revealed today in concept form.
