Maserati India has revealed the price of the Grecale Folgore, the Italian marque's first all-electric SUV, at Rs 1.89 crore, ex-showroom, before options. Maserati Grecale ICE variants, including the standard (Rs 1.13 crore), Modena (Rs 1.40 crore) and Trofeo (Rs 1.99 crore), have been on sale since last year. Compared to the top trim, the new Grecale is less expensive by Rs 10 lakh. The Grecale Folgore rivals the Porsche Macan EV, which is priced between Rs 1.21 crore and Rs 1.72 crore.

The Grecale EV gets a 400V, 105kWh battery pack (97kWh net), and all-wheel drive is enabled by one electric motor each at the front and rear. Combined output from these permanent magnet synchronous motors is 550hp and 820Nm, hurling the 2,480kg (kerb) EV from 0-100kph in 4.1 seconds; top speed is rated at 220kph. It’s compatible with up to 22kW AC and 150kW DC fast charging and returns a single-charge range of 501km (as per Maserati’s internal tests).

With respective length, width and height measurements of 4,865mm, 1948mm (without ORVMs) and 1651mm, and a wheelbase of 2,901mm, the Maserati Grecale Folgore is bigger (overall) than the Macan EV. Signature Maserati bits, such as a low-set concave grille and trident logo on the D-pillar, are retained in the EV version. Distinct markers include subtly redesigned bumpers, bronze coloured brake calipers, Maserati and Folgore (on the fenders and tailgate) letterings and new designs for the alloy wheels. Maserati is offering 19-21-inch wheel options and a total of 24 exterior colours with the Folgore.

12.3-inch touchscreen, 1,285W Sonus Faber sound system (optional)
Compared to the standard petrol Grecale, not a lot differs when it comes to the Folgore’s interior. It carries over the screen trio of a 12.3-inch driver’s display, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen and an 8.8-inch touchscreen lower down for the climate control system. While these lack the tactile feeling of physical buttons, the steering wheel still has loads of them. Behind it are dagger-sized paddles and even volume buttons.
Being a Maserati, the list of custom options runs long, including an exterior body colour kit, rear privacy glass, a panoramic sunroof, a 1,285W Sonus Faber sound system with 21 speakers, a heated leather steering wheel, and front and rear parking sensors. Interior upholstery alone gets 16 colour choices.
