Maruti stated that the price hike is the result of a steady rise in input costs and strong inflationary pressures, and it's imperative for the carmaker to pass on some impact of the additional cost to customers via the increased prices. However, Maruti isn't the only automaker to hike prices. Brands like Hyundai, Kia, and Tata Motors have also announced price hikes across their respective portfolios, citing similar reasons.
