Maruti Suzuki XL6 front styling revealed

Maruti Suzuki has begun production of its next launch for India, the upcoming six-seat XL6, which is slated to hit the showrooms on August 21, 2019. The first set of spy shots, which confirmed the new model’s market name, surfaced yesterday and today, a second picture of the new Maruti Suzuki XL6 shows the models’ front styling for the first time.

The Ertiga-based Maruti Suzuki XL6 gets fresh styling upfront with a more upright nose with a flatter hood design. The trapezoidal grille design is new as well with dual chrome strips placed at the centre. The headlights get an angular look with LED daytime running lamps merging neatly with the chrome strips. The grille inserts get chrome bits too, similar to the ones seen on the Ertiga. The XL6 gets a chunky front bumper with unique design elements running below the headlamps. It gets large fog-light enclosures, a wide air intake and a faux-brushed aluminum skid plate as well.  The model does not get a sunroof but does come with roof rails.

Going by the black-painted wing mirrors and alloy wheels, it could be possible to see the higher variants of the XL6 with a contrast roof as well. The XL6 shares its doors and tailgate with the standard Ertiga, but comes with a slightly raised ride height and body cladding across its wheel arches, sides and at the back.

The model will get all-black interiors in a unique six-seat configuration, with two individual captain chairs for the second row. Under the hood, a BS6-compliant version of Maruti’s new 1.5-litre petrol is expected, along with a 5-speed manual gearbox. An automatic option is expected to join a little later. Maruti will not offer a diesel engine option with the XL6.

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will be sold via the brand’s Nexa showrooms and bookings are expected to commence sometime in early August, according to our sources.
