Mahindra has officially opened order books for the newly launched CNG variants of the XUV 3XO compact SUV. Interested buyers can book the XUV 3XO CNG for a token amount of Rs 21,000 either through Mahindra’s official website or at a dealership. Deliveries are also starting today. Here’s the full price list of the XUV 3XO CNG:

The XUV 3XO CNG is powered by the compact SUV’s entry-level 1.2-litre three-cylinder MPFi turbocharged engine. While you’d expect output to drop in CNG mode as it does in other CNG-powered cars, it doesn’t. Mahindra has overcome this with optimised turbo calibration and ECU mapping, alongside a 10-bar CNG injection system. Simply put, the XUV 3XO CNG develops 111hp and 200Nm in both petrol and CNG modes.
Unlike the petrol-powered variants of the XUV 3XO, however, you don’t get the option of an automatic transmission for the CNG – a 6-speed manual is the only gearbox available. Mahindra claims a 0-100kph time of 11.8 seconds in CNG mode and a fuel efficiency of 24.7km/kg.

What community is saying on the XUV 3XO?
On the outside, the XUV 3XO CNG looks no different from its petrol- and diesel-powered counterparts, save for a ‘ZNG’ badge on the boot lid – ZNG is a shorthand for ‘zing’ in Mahindra speak. The same holds true for the interior, with the only differentiators being a CNG switch to the right of the steering wheel and a reduced boot capacity (270 litres) due to the fitment of the twin cylinders underneath.
The XUV 3XO CNG is available in the MX Edge, RevX Edge (O), AX5 and RevX A trim levels. While it doesn’t quite stretch to the absolute top end of the XUV 3XO range, the CNG’s fully loaded RevX A variant still packs goodies such as dual 10.25-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette seats, a 6-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, LED headlamps and tail-lamps, 6 airbags, and more.
The XUV 3XO CNG chiefly rivals CNG versions of compact SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon.
