Mahindra EV charger policy revised

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 buyers can now opt not to purchase a company-supplied charger, which was previously mandatory, under three specific conditions:

1. Your home or office lacks provisions for a private charger
2. You already have a charger that meets Mahindra's safety standards
3. For families buying 2 or more Mahindra e-SUVs, 1 charging point may suffice

For the rest, Mahindra continues to sell a 7.2kW AC charger for Rs 50,000 and an 11.2kW AC charger for Rs 75,000, and either of these must be bought along with the born-electric vehicles.

Mahindra BE 6 (formerly BE 6e)

The Mahindra BE 6 is offered with a 79kWh battery pack only in the Pack Three top model, which can be charged from 0-100 percent in 8 hours using an 11kW charger and 11.7 hours with a 7.2kW charger. Other BE 6 variants, ranging from Pack One to Pack Three Select, get a smaller 59kWh battery, which takes 6 hours (11kW charger) and 8.7 hours (7.2kW charger) to juice up. Mahindra XEV 9e

The Mahindra XEV 9e shares its two 79kWh and 59kWh battery packs, and 11kW and 7.2kW charger options with the BE 6. As a result, the charging times with both wall chargers are identical. It should be noted that the XEV 9e does not get a Pack One Above variant which is offered with its smaller electric SUV sibling. Deliveries for the Mahindra EVs will begin in mid-March.
