While launching the BE 6 in November 2024, Mahindra only revealed its ex-showroom, introductory starting price of Rs 18.90 lakh. Now, the carmaker has disclosed the prices for the BE 6 Pack Three, which costs Rs 26.90 lakh. It should be noted that prices for this top-spec model are not introductory. The bookings for the top-spec BE 6 Pack Three will commence on February 14, while bookings for the other two variants will begin in March. The deliveries are expected to start by March as well.

  2. It comes with two battery sizes - 59kWh and 79kWh
  3. The first owner will get a lifetime warranty on the 79kWh battery pack
  4. Prices for the Mahindra XEV 9e were also announced today

The BE 6 will be available in three variants: Pack One, Pack Two and Pack Three, though prices for the mid-spec trim have not yet been announced. Mahindra will offer the SUV in eight colours: Everest White, Firestorm Orange, Stealth Black, Tango Red, Deep Forest, Desert Myst, Desert Myst Satin and Everest White Satin.

Mahindra BE 6 battery, range and charging

The Mahindra BE 6 is available with two battery options – 59kWh for Pack One and 79kWh for the higher variants, with an ARAI range of 556km and 682km, respectively.

The 59kWh battery supports a 231hp motor, and the 79kWh battery works with a 281hp one; torque is rated at 380Nm for both. The BE 6 Pack One will be rear-wheel drive (RWD), while Pack Two and Pack Three have all-wheel drive (AWD). The acceleration from 0-100kph takes 6.7 seconds (79kWh).

As standard, Mahindra will give buyers either an 11.2kW AC charger that can juice up the 79kWh battery from 0-100 percent in 8 hours and the 59kWh unit in 6 hours, or a 7.3kWh AC charger, which charges the bigger battery from 0-100 percent in 11.7 hours and the smaller 59kWh unit in 8.7 hours. The chargers must be bought separately.

The company is also providing a lifetime warranty on the bigger 79kWh battery pack to the first owner and claims that it can charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes using a 175kW DC fast charger.

Mahindra BE 6 interior, features

Inside, there’s a halo-like trim that wraps around the driver for a cockpit-like feel. Instrumentation and entertainment duties are handled by dual, 12.3-inch floating screens running on Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture (MAIA).

Other highlights include a new two-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated ‘BE’ logo, an aircraft-style drive mode selector and a wireless charging pad.

The range-topping BE 6 models get dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof with integrated multi-colour lighting patterns and UV protection, auto park assist, electronic parking brake, a Dolby Atmos 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ambient lighting, powered driver’s seat with memory function, 5G connectivity with in-built Wi-Fi, OTA updates, Level 2 ADAS suite, 360-degree cameras and seven airbags.

Mahindra BE 6 price vs Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV

The BE 6 will not have a born-EV rival in the mid-size e-SUV segment until the Maruti e Vitara arrives on the scene. Still, it directly takes on the Tata Curvv EV (Rs 17.49 lakh-21.99 lakh) and the MG ZS EV (Rs 18.98 lakh-25.75 lakh). Considering its Rs 18.90-26.90 lakh price range, the Mahindra BE 6 seems to be well positioned against its competition. However, it should be noted that the Mahindra's prices do not include the charger cost or installation, unlike the Tata or the MG's.
