Ahead of launching its version of the Jetour T2 SUV, likely later this year, JSW Motors is gearing up to set up four experience centres, Bloomberg reported citing people familiar with the matter. The passenger vehicle division of the JSW Group will come up with these centres across key Indian cities, including Mumbai, New Delhi and Ahmedabad, they added. "We will start with experience centres, designed as curated spaces for customers to interact with our products, learn about our technology and connect with the brand," a JSW Motors spokesperson told the publication.

  1. JSW Motors will own and run the experience centres
  2. Potential dealer partners approached for broader retail presence
  3. They could be shown future models in the pipeline

JSW Motors to run experience centres

The experience centres will be owned and operated directly by JSW Motors. This is the first step before expanding through traditional dealer networks, allowing the company to control customer experience, pricing and brand positioning early on. The report adds that JSW has already started inviting proposals from potential dealer partners as it prepares for a wider retail rollout.

Prospective dealers are likely to be shown its first set of products, including other models developed with China's Chery Automobile, around June or July. All of these models will wear the JSW badge, the people added. They could include the iCar V23-based electric SUV, which we have previously reported is in the pipeline.

JSW-badged Jetour T2 is expected to be similar in size to the Toyota Fortuner. For reference, the global-spec T2 SUV measures 4,785mm in length, 2,006mm in width and 1,880mm in height. The SUV will use a plug-in hybrid powertrain - it comprises a 156hp 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, a 26.7kWh battery pack and dual motors. The system's combined output is 381hp and 610Nm, channeled to the wheels by a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). The global-spec T2 hybrid has an NEDC-tested electric range of 139km and a claimed combined range of over 1,000km.

JSW is setting up a state-of-the-art facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, where the upcoming SUV will be assembled; the Indian company's derivative of the iCar V23 SUV is likely to follow the same route. The launch, which was first expected in the second half of 2026, has reportedly been delayed because approvals for importing Chinese components are moving slowly.
