Jeep expands pre-owned car business in India

    • ‘SELECTEDforYOU’ to be available in 65 FCA dealerships across India by August.
    • It allows customers to trade-in any car for a new or certified, pre-owned Jeep Compass.
    • The certified SUVs come with service history and a 3 years / 60,000 kms warranty.

Jeep India has just announced the expansion of its used car business, ‘SELECTEDforYOU’, in dealerships across India. This business facilitates the exchange of any brands of pre-owned car in exchange for a new or certified pre-owned Jeep Compass.

As ‘SELECTEDforYOU’ was started as a pilot project in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad in 2019, it is already available at 42 dealerships in these cities. The service will be expanded to a total of 65 dealerships across India by August.

How does Jeep ‘SELECTEDforYOU’ work in India?

The ‘SELECTEDforYOU’ programme allows a customer to trade in their existing car (any brand) for either a new or a certified pre-owned Jeep Compass. Apart from sourcing, they also certify the pre-owned Compass.

What does a ‘SELECTEDforYOU’ certified Jeep Compass entail?

In order for a Compass to be certified, it undergoes a 125-point inspection, the past ownership and service records are verified, and it is extensively tested on-road, prior to sale. Once certified, ‘SELECTEDforYOU’ also provides a 3 years/ 60,000 kms warranty on the car, which should give customers piece of mind when purchasing a pre-owned vehicle.

What models are currently sold by Jeep in India?

Jeep’s offerings in India currently consist of the Compass, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee SUVs. However, a 7-seat derivative of the Compass is in development, and it is expected to be launched in our market in 2021.
