Hyundai upcoming EV

Hyundai will showcase a new EV – its “biggest EV yet” – at the upcoming Brussels Motor Show, to be held from January 9 to 18. Though Hyundai hasn’t shared any specific details about the EV besides that it will showcase the company’s “state-of-the-art electric technology” and will come with an 800V charging system the car is expected to be an electric version of the Staria MPV available abroad.

  1. Upcoming Hyundai EV will be larger than Ioniq 9
  2. Will come with an 800V charging system
  3. Updated Ioniq 6 to also make its European debut

New Hyundai EV: What to expect?

The teaser image doesn’t reveal much, showing only a full-width LED light bar and the Hyundai logo just below it. The keen-eyed among you will know that the lighting arrangement looks similar to that of the ICE-powered Staria MPV. Moreover, at over 5.2 meters in length, the Staria does have the potential to be Hyundai’s biggest EV yet. For reference, Hyundai’s current largest EV, the Ioniq 9, measures just a shade over 5 meters.

Prototypes of the Staria EV have also been spied testing internationally. In terms of design, it is not expected to be very different from the ICE-powered Staria but will likely have some EV-specific updates. Currently, the Staria is offered with petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains abroad.

What else will Hyundai showcase at the Brussels Motor Show?

Apart from the all-new EV, Hyundai will display the updated Ioniq 6 that was unveiled in April this year. There will also be a dedicated N Zone, where visitors can experience the Ioniq 5 N and the Ioniq 6 N, as well as an interactive arcade gaming corner built around the Insteroid
