The Audi Q2 has been launched at a price of Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Although it is the latest and smallest addition to the brand’s Q range of SUVs and crossovers in India, the Q2 has been on sale in international markets since 2016.

  • The Q2 serves as the brand’s new entry-level model in India
  • The 5-seat crossover is priced at Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
  • It produces 190hp and 320Nm from a 2.0-litre TFSI turbo-petrol engine

Audi Q2 price

Although the new Audi crossover is now the German marque’s entry-level model in India, the Q2 is certainly on the pricier side, due to it being brought into India as a CBU import, with buyers having to shell out Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base-spec Q2 Standard, and up to Rs 48.89 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-spec Q2 Technology.

Audi Q2 details

The Audi Q2 is the fifth new model launched by the German marque in India this year.

Although it’s based on VW Group’s MQB platform, the Q2 has no direct rivals in India, owing to the fact that it is considerably smaller than similar offerings in its price range, such as the Mercedes-Benz GLA, the second generation of which isn’t on sale in India yet, Volvo XC40, and BMW X1.

Measuring 4,318mm in length, 1,805mm in width, 1,548mm in height, and with a wheelbase of 2,601mm, the Q2 is the smallest offering in the Q range. Although the facelifted Q2 has been revealed abroad recently, it is pertinent to note that the car coming to India is, in fact, the pre-facelift model, which has been on sale internationally since 2016.

Audi Q2 variants

Audi is offering the Q2 in five different variants in India – Standard, Premium, Premium Plus 1, Premium Plus 2, and Technology.

Audi Q2 Standard

The base model of the Audi Q2 gets 17-inch, multi-spoke wheels, LED tail-lights with dynamic turn signals, rear parking sensors, and heated and powered door mirrors. On the inside, the Standard Q2 includes a colour MID screen in between the dials, multi-function steering wheel, auto dimming interior rear-view mirror, and a 4-speaker MMI infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity. Fabric seats and a foldable rear seat bench complete the interior of the entry-level Q2, with Audi giving buyers the option to spec the entry-level Q2 with a sunroof.

Audi Q2 Premium

Audi doesn’t offer much in the way of cosmetic exterior upgrades in the model directly above the standard Q2, with the only changes being a few significant features upgrades in the cockpit. The Premium gets a sunroof, digital instrument cluster, enhanced ‘Parking aid plus’ system with a rear camera, a touchpad operated MMI system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and eight speakers in place of the entry-spec Q2’s four.

Audi Q2 Premium Plus 1

As with the Audi Q2 Premium, the Premium Plus 1 doesn’t get many exterior upgrades over the base model. However, it adds to the feature upgrades offered in the Premium, with the Premium Plus 1 getting drive select modes, cruise control, keyless entry and go, auto dimming exterior mirrors, and an ‘Audi phone box’ that wirelessly connects phones to the car’s antenna and features Qi inductive wireless charging. The car also gets leather seats and a 10-speaker Audi sound system along with two USB ports.

Audi Q2 Premium Plus 2

Over and above the features of the Premium, the Premium Plus 2 is also the first variant to benefit from significant exterior upgrades. It boasts of a sportier S-Line exterior, five-spoke wheels, and an extended black styling package, with blacked-out exterior elements such as the C-pillar and front grille, giving the car a more aggressive stance. It does, however, miss out on the feature upgrades included in the Premium Plus 1.

In keeping with the theme of the visual upgrades to the car’s exterior, the cabin of the Q2 Premium Plus 2 benefits from a multi-function flat-bottomed steering wheel, aluminium-look interior with ambient lighting, and interior elements in leatherette.

Audi Q2 Technology

For those wondering if Audi will let them buy a Q2 with both, the features and upholstery upgrades of the Premium Plus 1, and the S-Line exterior and interior design of the Premium Plus 2, the‘Technology’ variant answers that question. It fits into the Q2 variant line-up as the top-spec model.
