In a bid to clear unsold stock of the 2018 model year Micra and Sunny, Nissan dealers in Delhi are offering the models at significant discounts. This limited period offer is a dealer-level scheme and the discounts may vary from dealership to dealership.

Nissan dealers are offering the top-spec Micra XV CVT variant with a flat discount of Rs 1 lakh. The hatchback will be available at Rs 8 lakh (on-road, Delhi). Similarly, dealers are offering the top-of-the-line Sunny XV CVT with a discount of Rs 1.28 lakh, which means the sedan will be available at Rs 9.99 lakh (on-road, Delhi).

In their top-spec XV variants, both models get a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, push-button start/stop with keyless entry, 15-inch alloy wheels, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist and a rear parking camera.

The Nissan Micra is powered by a 77hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine that comes mated to a CVT gearbox, and a 64hp, 1.5-litre diesel that’s paired with just a 5-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, the Sunny gets a 101hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine and an 86hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor. Both engines are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, with the petrol getting the option of a CVT.

When it was launched back in 2011, the Nissan Sunny rivalled the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Rapid. Since then, the competition has moved on, receiving plenty of mechanical and cosmetic upgrades. The Sunny received a facelift in 2014 but hasn't been updated mechanically and this has led to sales plummeting over time.

The Nissan Micra too hasn't been significantly updated since its launch in our market. The hatchback continues to rival the Hyundai Grand i10, the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Toyota Etios Liva.

Disclaimer: Discounts vary from city to city. Please check with your local dealer for exact discounts, which may not match figures quoted here.
