2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: price, variants explained

2022 Alto K10 front quarter

Maruti Suzuki has just launched the new Alto K10 in India, priced from Rs 3.99 lakh-5.84 lakh, and it will be sold through Maruti's Arena line of dealerships. Bookings for the hatchback were opened on August 10 for a token amount of Rs 11,000. 

  • Third-gen Alto K10 based on Heartect platform
  • Gets 67hp, 1.0-litre K10C petrol engine from Celerio

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: 4 trims, 6 variants

In line with Maruti’s Arena models, the Alto K10 uses the nomenclature Std, LXi, VXi and VXi+ for its four trims. The 67hp, 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, K10C petrol engine that’s also present on the S-Presso and Celerio is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, the 5-speed AMT gearbox is only offered on the hatchback’s top-spec VXi and VXi+ trims. Maruti claims a fuel efficiency of 24.39kpl for the Alto K10's manual versions and 24.90kpl for the automatic versions. We take a look at the equipment list available on the new Alto K10.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: rivals

The only direct rival to the new Alto K10 at this budget end of the market is the Renault Kwid, priced from Rs 4.64 lakh-5.99 lakh. However, prices of the new Alto K10 also overlap with those of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso (Rs 4.25 lakh-5.99 lakh) and the existing Alto 800 (Rs 3.39 lakh-5.03 lakh), which are other options that customers could also be looking at.
