Jeep has digitally revealed its new Wrangler SUV, which is set to make a public debut at the 2017 Los Angeles motor show that’s set to begin on November 29.

The next-gen Wrangler has kept the traditional Jeep styling, with marginal changes to the headlamps, grille and to the instrument cluster in the cabin. However, the American manufacturer claims that the SUV has improved aerodynamics. The model will be available in different door, top and windshield combinations.

A leaked user manual had revealed there will either be a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol or 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine under the hood. The smaller motor is capable of towing 907kg, while the larger one has a 1,587kg towing capacity; both come with a system that is designed to stop attached trailers from snaking.

In the cabin, there isn’t much that has changed from the outgoing model, though there is a choice between a 7.0-inch and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. While the larger one gets satnav, both systems have climate control systems integrated.

The displays also show a variety of information for off-roading, ranging from axle status and steering angle to the car’s altitude, longitude and latitude. Pitch and roll angles are also displayed.

The Wrangler gets a raft of safety equipment as well, including automatic emergency braking and Rain Brake Support that assists braking when wet weather is detected, and adaptive steering weighting that changes the steering setup to suit different conditions. Hardcore Rubicon models are more likely to get the above mentioned advanced off-roading technology.

More details will arrive by the end of the month when Jeep brings the SUV to the LA motor show.
