Citroen is launching the C3 – their first mass-market product in the Indian market – on July 20. The carmaker calls it a “hatchback with a twist”, and it will likely rival high-riding hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and lower-end compact SUVs like the Renault Kiger, Tata Punch and the Nissan Magnite.
Citroen is hinting at an aggressive price tag for their newest model. At launch, the car will be available in two trims – Live and Feel. Its engine options include a 82hp, 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated (NA) petrol unit and a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol.

There are two things to note here. One, while the higher Feel variant does get you premium features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it misses out on quite a few basics, like a rear windscreen wiper and defogger, powered wing mirror adjustment, a day/night mirror, a tachometer and a central lock/unlock button for the doors. Secondly, the lower Live model feels seriously stripped out in comparison, ditching things like LED running lights, exterior black plastic cladding, the passenger sun visor, rear power windows, USB chargers, the touchscreen, and even the audio system.
The 1.2-litre NA engine is available with both Live and Feel variants, while the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol is available only with Feel. Citroen offers 15-inch steel wheels with plastic covers as standard, while 15-inch alloys are an optional extra. Buyers can opt for four single-tone body colours, and six dual-tone options, depending on the variant. Citroen is also offering three customisation packs, Zesty Orange, Platinum Grey and Chrome, which add orange, grey and chrome exterior highlights, respectively, on the front bumper fog lamp housing, the rear bumper, and on the side body cladding and wing mirror caps. Moreover, the carmaker is also providing two dashboard colours, namely Anodized Orange and Anodized Grey, on the C3.
