I’m a student with a part-time job and I’m looking at 125 cc scooter models. I need something affordable, fuel-efficient, and with a good ride quality in hill stations. Could someone suggest the best scooter for me?

The most fuel-efficient scooters in the 125cc space in our tests have been the Yamaha RayZR and Fascino models. Both are mechanically and feature-wise exactly the same, with only different bodywork and styling separating the two. Some other proven and reliable options to consider are the Suzuki Access, Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter models - these are also practical, fuel-efficient, reliable and comfortable scooters with widespread service networks.

I am confused between the Honda Activa 125 and TVS Jupiter 125 - which one is the best choice? I’ve been using the Activa for the last 12 years and I’m currently on my third one.

Each scooter has its strengths and weaknesses, and without knowing your particular requirements, answering which one is better will not be possible. The strengths of the Activa 125 are its buttery smooth engine, bulletproof reliability and a widespread spare parts availability. Coming to the Jupiter 125, it has the largest underseat storage area on an Indian ICE scooter and has a plush ride and is also more stable at higher speeds owing to its 12-inch wheels at both ends. Take a test ride of both to see which one you're leaning toward more before making a purchase decision.

I’m a first-time buyer looking for a 125cc scooter that can handle uneven roads and potholes while offering a very comfortable ride.

In the 125cc scooter category, we have found that the Suzuki Access, TVS Jupiter 125, and Honda Activa 125 have good ride comfort, and these scooters can take a beating and last you a long time.
The Jupiter has the largest boot space among this trio if that's an important consideration for you, and it is also the only one to come with 12-inch wheels at both ends, which will help when tackling bumps.

I need to exchange my current scooter and want one with 125cc or above and disc brakes as a must. Which model is best?

In the 125cc scooter segment, our top picks are the Suzuki Access, TVS Jupiter 125 and the Honda Activa 125 if you want a traditional-looking and family-centric offering. If you want something a little sportier and sharper-looking but don't want to sacrifice practicality, the TVS Ntorq 125 is our pick in the class. All of them come with disc brakes on multiple variants, so you have a broad price spread to choose from.

I’m looking for a scooter for my daily commute of about 75km, which includes village roads and highways. I’m 6 feet tall, so I need a comfortable scooter that also offers good mileage.

In the petrol scooter category, our top picks are the TVS Jupiter 110 and the Suzuki Access 125 (in their respective segments) for their blend of comfort, practicality, and fuel efficiency.
You can also consider the Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Hero Destini 125. All are comfortable and frugal options.

Between the Jupiter 125 and the Xoom 125, which scooter offers a better and more comfortable ride? I’m 57 years old and will be using the scooter daily for about 10 km.

Between the two, the TVS will be the more comfortable and practical choice.

The Hero Xoom 125 does have a comfortable suspension, but its seating comfort is rather average. In comparison, the TVS Jupiter 125 offers a spacious, almost-flat seat and a well-judged suspension setup. Both these factors make it a better option, and that’s why we would steer you toward the Jupiter.

You could also consider the Suzuki Access125, a scooter which we found to be quite comfortable during our time with it.
