Yamaha India has expanded its hybrid commuter motorcycle portfolio with the launch of the FZ-X Hybrid, priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The FZ-X Hybrid is similar to the recently launched FZ-S Hybrid, in that it has a few added features and some clever fuel-saving tech over its standard counterpart.

  1. Yamaha FZ X Hybrid makes same 12.4hp, 13.3Nm as standard FZX
  2. Has a colour TFT display and start/stop tech
  3. Available in a single colour – matte green with gold wheels

Yamaha FZ X Hybrid launched: how different is it to the standard FZ X?

FZ X hybrid comes with a colour TFT display and an ISG.

The Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid packs in the same upgrades over the standard version as the FZ-S Hybrid does over its regular model. That means you get an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) enabling silent start and start/stop tech. The FZ-X Hybrid also gets the same 4.2-inch colour TFT display with revised switchgear to control all the added functions of the dash, just like the one seen on the FZ-S Hybrid.

Powering the Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid is the same 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled mill as the rest of the FZ models, and it makes the same 12.4hp and 13.3Nm as before, and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The hybrid system on Yamaha’s 150cc commuters is geared towards aiding fuel efficiency and not boosting performance, which is why the peak outputs stay the same as the non-hybrid versions. The design and key specifications of the FZ-X Hybrid are exactly the same as the regular FZ-X, except for the weight. The hybrid variant weighs 141kg, 2kg more than the standard version.

Yamaha FZ X price and colour

Available in a single shade of matte green with golden wheels, which Yamaha calls Matte Titan, the Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid costs Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it Rs 20,000 more expensive than the standard FZ-X and Rs 5,000 dearer than the FZ-S Hybrid.
