Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 teased again

Suzuki has just teased its upcoming Gixxer SF 250 again a few days before its launch. While this teaser doesn’t show much of the fully faired motorcycle, it reveals its exhaust note.

The video that Suzuki India has shared on social media shows the motorcycle riding towards the camera; but the main focus of this teaser is the sound clip, not the footage. In the video, the 250cc, single-cylinder motorcycle doesn’t actually sound like one; and it sounds more like a multi-cylinder motorcycle. That said, the sound clip only has the engine quite high in the rev range, where it could have a smooth-sounding tone, unlike a single-cylinder at low revs. While the sound in the video has most certainly been enhanced, it does give us a fair idea of what the motorcycle could possibly sound like.

Unfortunately for Suzuki, its teasers aren’t hiding much, as the motorcycle was revealed in its entirety in what appears to be a leaked image of the brochure. The picture revealed the styling of the Gixxer SF 250 and its technical details. The brochure shows that the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 will be powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, SOHC oil-cooled engine that makes 26.5hp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The fuel-injected engine will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Other details like dual-channel ABS being part of the equipment, along with a kerb weight of 161kg were also revealed through the brochure. While there is no information regarding the pricing of the motorcycle, we can expect to be within range of its direct rival, the Yamaha Fazer 25 (Rs 1.43 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi).
