The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is a motorcycle with the potential to be the most successful model in the brand’s line-up because it melds together the timeless design of the Classic 350 with the capability of the 648cc twin-cylinder motor. Now, Royal Enfield (RE) has filed an application to trademark the name ‘Classic 650 Twin’, leaving little doubt that this upcoming bike will be christened just that.

  1. The Classic 650’s design is very similar to the smaller Classic 350
  2. Its 648cc parallel-twin engine will likely produce the same 47hp, 52Nm
  3. The main frame looks similar to that of Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650

It seems that since the Classic 350 and the Classic 650 will look quite alike, Royal Enfield wants to differentiate them by adding ‘Twin’ to the bigger model’s name. With the exception of a second peashooter pipe on the left-hand side, the Classic 650 Twin’s design won’t stray too much from the smaller model’s, which is certainly not a bad thing.

We’ve spotted the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin being tested multiple times. It seems to share its main frame with the Shotgun, and not the Interceptor. The sweet, 648cc, twin-cylinder engine will likely produce the same 47hp and 52Nm of torque as it does in RE's four other 650cc models that are on sale.
