With the Indian festive season in full swing, nearly all of the six heavyweights in the Indian two-wheeler market reported a substantial increase. Here’s the detailed breakdown of each company.

Hero MotoCorp: 6,57,403 units

Dominant force Hero MotoCorp retained its grasp on the top spot with over 6.5 lakh units sold in October, a 6.60 percent increase over September 2024 (6,16,706 units). This trend continued even when compared to its own numbers from October 2023 (5,59,766 units), representing a 17.44 percent increase. Hero’s new Xtreme 125R is proving to be a popular buy in the class; further sales buoyancy also comes from its affordable, hardy and frugal 100cc commuters.

Honda: 5,53,120 units

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India continues to retain its second place with over 5.5 lakh units sold in October 2024 – a marginal 3.10 percent increase over its September sales tally of 5,36,391 units. But, compared to October 2023 (4,42,196 units), the company’s sales surged 25.10 percent. Honda recently launched the CB300F flex fuel bike in India, and to read more about it, tap HERE.

TVS: 3,90,489 units

TVS came very close to breaching the 4 lakh units sales mark in October 2024, reporting a 5.78 percent increase over the previous month’s 3,69,138 units. Even in comparison to its sales number of October 2023 (3,44,957 units), the Hosur-based marque reported a 13.20 percent increase. It is worth mentioning that TVS doesn’t include sales of the iQube electric soccer in its overall figure. TVS recently revamped its bestseller, the Jupiter 110, which is seeing good traction in the market; to read our review, tap HERE.

Bajaj: 2,55,909 units

Despite selling over 2.50 lakh units in October, Bajaj Auto reported a minuscule 1.32 percent decline compared to its September figure of 2,59,333 units. The decline was 8.10 percent compared to October 2023 (2,78,486 units). It is worth noting that the sales of Bajaj’s Chetak electric scooter are included in this overall number, and the company does not provide a breakup. Bajaj’s novel CNG bike, the Freedom 125, is steadily seeing increasing demand, and the company has also released a new 125cc Pulsar called the N125

Suzuki: 1,04,940 units

Suzuki has crossed the 1 lakh unit sales mark yet again (the last time it did so was in July) and, in the process, reported a substantial 35.82 per cent increase compared to its sales for September 2024 (77,263 units). This trend continues even when compared to its sale of 84,302 units in the year-ago period, equating to a 24.48 percent increase. Suzuki recently launched the GSX-8R sportbike in India. Royal Enfield: 80,958 units

Reporting sales of just over 80,000 units in October, Royal Enfield posted a minute increase of 2.10 percent over 79,326 units sold in the previous month. Compared to October 2023 (76,528 units), the increase was 5.79 percent. Royal Enfield recently launched the Bear 650 in our market, and to read more about it, tap HERE.
