Ather 450, 340 electric scooters get new subscription plans

Ather Energy has announced three new subscription plans – Ather Connect, Ather Service and Ather Charge – for the Ather 450 and 340 electric scooters. It had initially offered the Ather One subscription plan, which many customers felt could have been more flexible and better. Taking note of this, the new plans have been made more customer-centric and are based on their usage. Ather also announced that public charging at AtherGrid will remain free till December 31, 2019, for its customers.

The company did mention that the flagship Ather One plan will remain and customers will enjoy its free services for a year from their date of delivery. The plan covers all expenses and scooter maintenance, including data charges, public fast charging, home charging expenses, periodic service (including consumables) and roadside assistance. Once the subscription ends, customers have the option of opting out of the Ather One plan and selecting one of the three new plans. The company also mentioned that free Ather One plan for pre-order customers stands discontinued from October 31, 2018.

The Bengaluru-based start-up has priced the Ather 340 at Rs 1,09,750, while the Ather 450 retails for Rs 1,24,750; these prices are on-road, Bengaluru, and are inclusive of the Rs 22,000 for the subsidy, road tax, registration card and insurance.
