With the new tax rates effective from September 22, motorcycles above 350cc will see a substantial increase in price.

Enthusiasts who want to purchase bikes larger than 350cc will now have to shell out more money on their next purchase. While the tax slab was reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent for bikes under 350cc, it has increased to an astonishing 40 percent for bikes over that. Currently, we pay 28 percent GST plus 3 percent cess (included in the ex-showroom price), so it will be a 9 percentage point increase.
 
If you were planning on buying a bike like the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, KTM 390 Duke, Triumph Speed 400, or the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, here is what the new ex-showroom prices could look like if the manufacturer decides to pass on this burden to the customers:
