Tata Motors has finally revealed the exterior and interior of the much-awaited Sierra SUV; a nameplate it has revived after over two decades. This time around though, it's a modern lifestyle SUV with a boxy silhouette that's inspired by the original. The latest Sierra will offer petrol, diesel and electric powertrain options.
- Expected to offer dual and triple-screen layouts across variants
- Cabin aims to balance comfort, space and practicality
- Likely to get more premium features to appeal to family buyers
This will be Tata’s second model in the midsize SUV space after the Curvv. While the Curvv has a large boot, its sloping roof limited rear headroom, making it less appealing for family buyers. The new Sierra is positioned above it and will rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and other midsize SUVs.
Tata Sierra: Tech-loaded cabin
Three-screen layout, modern steering and practical 5-seat setup.

Inside, the Sierra gets a three-screen setup, a digital driver's display and two infotainment screens that can share content. It uses the same four-spoke steering wheel as the Curvv, complete with an illuminated Tata logo and touch-sensitive controls. The cabin has a black and grey theme, and gets five seats with a dual-tone beige and grey theme. All seats get adjustable headrests and 3-point seat belts.
At the Sierra reveal, we noted that the rear seat has good legroom, even with the front seat set for a tall driver. The seat base is wide and mostly flat and the small central hump helps with middle-passenger legroom. The seat backs can be reclined, there is an armrest with cup holders, and a 65W USB port for charging devices. The rear windows also get retractable sun blinds.
Tata Sierra: Comfort and features suited for daily family use
Packed with practical features and premium touches.

The Sierra prioritises comfort and convenience. A panoramic sunroof stretches back to the C-pillar, enhancing cabin airiness. Higher variants get JBL audio with a subwoofer, while front seats are powered and ventilated (passenger seat gets it based on the trim). Tata has worked on improving ergonomics and added soft-touch panels and better storage areas throughout.
With features including dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, rear sunshades, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, and Level-2 ADAS, the Sierra does seem to be a practical 5-seat family SUV. However, we'll get to know more about it after the official launch.
