The Himalayan is an adventure-tourer, based on a completely new platform. The Himalayan 450 is the successor of the Himalayan 411 but there’s nothing common between the two. The engine, chassis, suspension and the features are all fresh.
2. Which engine powers the Himalayan 450?
The Himalayan 450 is the first motorcycle to be powered by their all new 452cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine, which they call “Sherpa”. It produces 40hp of power and 40Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.
3. What is the suspension travel on the Himalayan 450?
The Himalayan 450 is equipped with a USD fork and a monoshock setup from Showa. The suspension offers 200mm travel at both ends.
4. What is the fuel capacity, seat height and kerb weight of the Himalayan 450?
The Himalayan gets a 17 litre fuel tank. The seat height comes standard at 825mm, which can be lowered to 805mm or increased to 845mm. The Rally variant can further increase the seat height to 860mm. The Himalayan 450 weighs in at 196kgs with fuel.

The Himalayan 450’s braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends. The front brake features a 320mm disc with dual piston calipers whereas the rear gets equipped with a 270mm single piston caliper.
