The recently launched MG Hector facelift, priced from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh, has introduced slight exterior changes and added some new infotainment features along with new exterior and interior colour options. Here’s everything that has changed in the new Hector compared to the outgoing model.

MG Hector new vs old: Exterior

New grille and air dam design on the bumper

The new MG Hector has a redesigned grille with hexagonal chrome elements replacing the outgoing model’s diamond pattern. The slim LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) and twin-pod LED headlights have been carried over. The bumper design is also the same, save for the revised air dam with chrome surrounds.

Still gets 18-inch rims but with a new design

The side profile has not changed much, save for redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels. The door handles have some chrome elements, and the Hector facelift continues with black cladding on the wheel arches and the lower edges of the doors.

The New Hector also comes with two new colour options: Celadon Blue and Pearl White, taking the total number of exterior hues to five.

Redesigned rear bumper

The new Hector’s rear profile is similar to that of the pre-facelift model, with connected LED tail-lights, a wiper and a spoiler. However, the bumper has been slightly revised with a chrome bar.

MG Hector new vs old: Interior

Touchscreen gets new swipe gestures

MG is offering the SUV with two new interior themes: grey-and-black for the 5-seat Hector and tan-and-black for the 3-row Hector Plus. The Hector features a layered dashboard design, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a portrait orientation. This screen, however, now gets swipe gestures for AC and audio controls, which were missing on the pre-facelift model.

The 2026 Hector continues with leatherette seat upholstery and a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel. The dashboard and doors also come with a lot of soft-touch materials.

Same convenience and safety features as before

In terms of features, MG continues with a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, ventilated and powered front seats, automatic climate control with dedicated vents even for the second and third rows and a cooled glove box.

Its safety suite consists of 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera with a blind-spot monitor, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, an electronic parking brake, disc brakes on all wheels and a Level 2 ADAS suite.

MG Hector new vs old: Powertrain options

Turbo-petrol engine retained; diesel options will continue but launch in 2026

The new MG Hector is currently available only with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 143hp and 250Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The pre-facelift model was also available with a 2-litre diesel engine, which MG says will be offered in the Hector sometime in 2026.
