Zac Hollis, former brand director of Skoda Auto India, has joined Vietnamese EV major VinFast as its Asia head. Hollis, who played an important role in the successful implementation of the India 2.0 strategy for Skoda, will now play a critical part in defining VinFast India’s roll out plan. The move to VinFast comes within four months of Hollis joining MG Motor as its prestige models operation director.

    VinFast's India plans

The onboarding of Hollis happened at a time when the Vietnamese EV specialists signed an MoU with the State Government of Tamil Nadu to invest USD 2 billion (over Rs 16,600 crore) in the country. Apart from overseeing India's entry strategy, Hollis is likely to play an important role in picking up key talent for the India arm, say people in the know.

The establishment of VinFast’s integrated electric vehicle facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu is expected to generate job opportunities for approximately 3,000-3,500 people, and have an annual manufacturing capacity of up to 1,50,000 units.
