Toyota Land Cruiser FJ FAQs
The Land Cruiser FJ is expected to launch by the end of 2028 with prices starting around ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom).
It utilises Toyota's robust IMV platform that also underpins the Fortuner and Hilux, ensuring high off-road capability.
It is expected to be powered by a 2.7-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine producing around 163hp and 246Nm. Strong Hybrid and PHEV options are also expected.
While more information is awaited, Toyota has revealed the Land Cruiser FJ will have a 215mm and a 2580mm wheelbase, the latter of which is comparable to the Mahindra Scorpio N.
The cabin is equipped with a large 12.5-inch central infotainment touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. Other features are expected to be revealed soon.
The Land Cruiser FJ is confirmed to feature the Toyota Safety Sense ADAS suite.
It is expected to compete with the top-end Mahindra Scorpio N (4X4 trims), the Jeep Compass, and similar rugged lifestyle SUVs.
It features a boxy, upright silhouette, removable chunky bumpers for repairability or customisation, and the option for classic round headlights, nodding to the original FJ40.
Despite its rugged design, the Land Cruiser FJ is a smaller 4x4 and is expected to come with a two-row seating capacity, unlike the larger 3-row Fortuner.
The SUV will be locally manufactured in India, likely being the first product to roll out from Toyota's new plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, with production expected to begin in August 2028.
