Renault Bridger
Renault has officially revealed the Bridger Concept, with production of the new sub-4-metre SUV set to begin in 2027. Once launched in India, the Bridger could take on the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon and Skoda Kylaq. While the French automaker is yet to confirm the powertrain specs of the Bridger Concept’s production version, it could use the Kiger’s 1 litre turbo petrol engine, and may even offer a new naturally aspirated engine alongside hybrid and EV powertrains.
The production-spec version of the Renault Bridger will be designed and developed in India, and the SUV is likely to be based on the brand’s new modular R-GMP architecture. Renault’s preview of its upcoming compact SUV showcases old-school boxy proportions with a rear-mounted spare wheel mixed with modern styling elements such as a twin-slatted grille with illuminated ‘Renault’ lettering, chic LED elements, gloss-black upper body trim and bold-looking alloy wheels.
