The BMW X7 facelift carries over the full-size SUV’s towering presence but adds a new face that looks more contemporary and assertive. Up front there is a re-shaped kidney grille that sits higher and wider, flanked by slimmer adaptive split LED headlamps with updated DRL signatures. The bumper features pronounced air vents that give it a more athletic stance.
From the side the X7 keeps its monumental proportions, tall glasshouse and large wheels that suit its grand touring ethos. At the rear, redesigned LED tail lamps and a cleaner bumper lift the premium look without breaking design continuity. Chrome trims and purposeful surface detailing add a sense of refinement and weight.
Engineering changes in the facelift focus on refinement and usability rather than wholesale structural updates. BMW has enhanced suspension tuning and chassis calibrations to deliver a more composed ride while maintaining the SUV’s expected solidity on highways and rough surfaces.

The X7’s cabin is cavernous and adult-friendly. Soft leathers, premium trims and precise fitment lend it a near-luxury feel. The dashboard and centre console carry BMW’s latest infotainment architecture with a large curved display covering both the digital instruments and central touchscreen.
Front seats are supportive with ample adjustment, heating and ventilation, backing long-distance comfort. In facelifted models the rear cabin sees updated trim treatments and improved seat comfort, making second and third rows genuinely usable for adults on short to medium journeys.
Rear-seat space is among the most generous in the segment. Knee room and foot space are excellent, and even the third row can comfortably accommodate adults in short to medium trips. Boot space remains substantial, and the SUV’s tall roof and long wheelbase make loading and unloading effortless.

The X7 gets both petrol and diesel engines, the powertrain comprises of a 3 litre mild hybrid inline six turbo petrol engine producing around 375hp and 520Nm  and 3 litre mild hybrid inline six turbo diesel engine producing around 335hp and 700Nm. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, giving the X7 a flexible and composed performance character.
Acceleration is effortless for a 2.5-tonne SUV, with strong mid-range thrust and smooth responses through the rev range. Refinement is high, with engine noise well suppressed in typical driving and only rising distinctly when pushed hard. Gear shifts are smooth and well timed, contributing to relaxed cruising and competent overtaking.

As a large luxury SUV with big petrol and diesel engines, the X7’s fuel economy is not class-leading. Expect consumption in the low tens under normal driving, with diesel alternatives offering better returns in sustained highway conditions. The emphasis remains on refinement and usable performance rather than outright economy.

Ride comfort is a key strength of the facelifted X7. Adaptive air suspension with variable damping does an excellent job of smoothing most road imperfections, keeping ride quality composed even over broken surfaces. Body motions are controlled, and the tall SUV feels planted at highway speeds despite its mass.
Handling is assured for such a large vehicle. Steering weighs up nicely at speed and provides confidence through bends, though the SUV’s focus is clearly on comfort rather than sharp dynamics. Cornering body roll is present but well managed, and the chassis inspires confidence on both urban and rural roads.

The X7 facelift comes packed with premium features. A large curved display integrates the digital cluster and infotainment, backed by controls that are logical and intuitive. Rear occupants benefit from multi-zone climate control, heated and ventilated seats, and a suite of connectivity and convenience tech.
Safety features include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, stability and traction control, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and lane assist systems. Parking sensors and a 360-degree camera aid manoeuvrability for a vehicle of this size.

The BMW X7 facelift commands a premium over its predecessor thanks to enhanced refinement and a more cohesive design. While its pricing positions it in the ultra-luxury SUV band, the blend of space, comfort, performance and tech justifies the outlay for buyers seeking a flagship SUV in the segment.
It remains one of the few full-size luxury SUVs that balances everyday usability with strong performance and imposing road presence, making it a compelling choice for families and executive buyers alike.
