Year-end discounts on Baleno, Ciaz, S-cross and Ignis

Towards the end of the year, carmakers look at hitting their sales targets (or improving on them), while clearing out older inventory to make space for next year’s models. Maruti Suzuki is also looking to cash in with its premium Nexa outlets having been authorised to offer a significant amount of benefits. Before buying your new premium Maruti car, check out how much you can save:

    Maruti Suzuki Ignis

    Save up to Rs 85,000
The Ignis, with its quirky polarising design, hasn’t been as successful on the sales charts as most of its stable-mates. The model is on sale with a single petrol engine, an 83hp, 1.2-litre engine, and a 5-speed manual and AMT option. Nexa outlets will now offer discounts and benefits in the range of Rs 85,000 on the manual and the automatic variants, including a Rs 25,000 exchange bonus.

    Maruti Suzuki Baleno

    Save up to Rs 40,000
Unlike the Ignis, Maruti’s other premium hatchback, the Baleno, is a hot-seller and has recently crossed the 5 lakh unit sales mark in India. The Honda Jazz and Hyundai i20 rival gets an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 75hp, 1.3-litre diesel motor. While both are mated to a 5-speed manual as standard, the petrol also gets the option of a CVT automatic. The premium hatchback is now an even better deal with year-end discounts and benefits available up to Rs 40,000, including a Rs 15,000 bonus on exchange.

    Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

    Save up to Rs 70,000
The recently launched facelift for Maruti’s midsize sedan came with more equipment, a slightly revised exterior and a new 105hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine with a dual-battery mild-hybrid setup. While it is the best-selling model in its segment, which includes rivals like the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, dealers are still offering whopping benefits on the car. While larger discounts of up to Rs 70,000 are available on the lower-spec Sigma and Delta variants, even the higher-spec Zeta and Alpha trims have benefits up to Rs 50,000. A few dealers also have remaining stock of the pre-facelift Ciaz, which can be bought with even more significant discounts.

    Maruti Suzuki S-cross

    Save up to Rs 75,000
The S-cross comes with a single engine-gearbox combination – a 90hp, 1.3-litre diesel motor mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. While the crossover is fairly spacious, practical and well-equipped, it just isn’t SUV enough for Indian buyers and the lack of a petrol model, an automatic or AWD variant is telling. During this month, buyers can avail Rs 75,000 worth of discounts and benefits. As the lower-spec variants see less demand than the higher-spec models, discounts on the former are larger.
