Tata Motors has extended its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme to the Nexon EV, Curvv EV, Sierra EV and Harrier EV. The option was previously available only with the Tiago EV and Punch EV, and is now offered across Tata’s entire electric car range.
Under BaaS, the battery is paid for separately from the car, reducing the upfront price. The monthly battery payment depends on the battery size, down payment and loan tenure.

The BaaS option cuts the starting price of Tata’s EVs by Rs 2.30 lakh to Rs 7.30 lakh, depending on the model. The Tiago EV sees the smallest reduction, at Rs 2.30 lakh, while the Harrier EV gets the largest, at Rs 7.30 lakh. The Nexon EV, Curvv EV and Sierra EV are Rs 5.35 lakh, Rs 6.20 lakh and Rs 6.80 lakh cheaper, respectively, with BaaS.
How Tata’s BaaS scheme works
Tata’s BaaS is a dual-loan finance product, with the vehicle and battery financed separately. The battery EMI varies depending on the battery size, down payment and loan tenure. The battery payment does not include charging, maintenance, repairs or other associated costs. The BaaS prices listed above apply to entry-level variants for personal users and are based on an assumed daily running of 60km, except for the Tiago EV, for which Tata uses 44km per day. Government levies, road tax, insurance and TCS are also excluded.
Customers can also continue to buy Tata EVs with the battery included in the vehicle price, with BaaS offered as an alternative financing option.
