Porsche India has announced that it will be hosting the ‘Festival of Dreams’ at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai from January 25. The event, which will celebrate 75 years of the brand, will see the India debut of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. India prices of the supercar were announced in May last year, however, it was only a soft launch then, while this will be a physical debut of the model.

Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS debut in India

The GT4 RS is the range-topper in the 718 line-up and was launched at Rs 2.54 crore. Available only in the Cayman coupe bodystyle, it is powered by a 500hp, 4.0-litre naturally aspirated engine and Porsche says it can sprint from 0-100 in 3.4 seconds. Paired only to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, it has a top speed of 315kph.

The GT4 RS comes with a swan-necked rear wing, new air vents, an adjustable front diffuser and a 30mm lower ride height compared to the standard 718 Cayman. The rear quarter glass has been swapped for enhanced airflow to the engine, which also results in a better soundtrack, according to Porsche. In addition to the aerodynamic changes, Porsche has made the GT4 RS lighter by using elements like carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic for the bonnet and front wings and a lighter rear windscreen.

The Festival of Dreams will bring the best that Porsche has to offer under one roof. The event will have Porsche India’s entire portfolio, which includes the 718 and 911 supercars, the Macan, Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe SUVs, the Taycan EV, and the Panamera sedan. Additionally, Porsche will display some special cars and will even have a range of models from the newly launched Porsche Approved used car buying programme.

Moreover, there will be a Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Zone, Porsche Lifestyle Section and Porsche Soul Garage which lets enthusiasts buy collector’s items, accessories and car care products.

There will be a special event for select Porsche customers, as well as an exhibition for Porsche fans on January 26. Those interested can register on the Festival of Dreams website

The Festival of Dreams is not the first of its kind brand immersion experience by a luxury brand in India. BMW recently introduced the Joytown festival, which brings BMW, Mini and BMW Motorrad brands together. The Joytown festival is ongoing with the next one scheduled on January 28 in Bengaluru.
