Unique boxy design and pop-up headlights among design highlights

The Cyber X features a boxy, high-riding and slab-sided design that is unique to it – there are no elements borrowed from famous boxy 4x4s like the Defender or the G-Class. Along with illuminated badges and full-width LED light bars at the front and rear, the Cyber X e-SUV sports pop-up headlights, large dual-tone alloys wheels, and smooth surfaces with minimal creases.
MG Cyber X SUV platform and electrical architecture
Uses SAIC’s latest E3 electric platform, which is modular

The Cyber X is underpinned by parent company SAIC’s latest E3 electric platform, which the Chinese brand describes as its “first fully electric, system-level architecture.” It is said to be designed to support a wide range of models – from small cars to large SUVs and sports cars –and has the flexibility to accommodate “various drivetrain configurations”. The E3 platform uses SAIC’s new CTB (cell-to-body) construction, in which the battery structure contributes to the rigidity of the car's body. This helps reduce weight and improve efficiency.
Latest OS to support better voice recognition, new autonomous functions

MG says the new SUV will also be among the first models to receive its new Zebra 3.0 operating system and digital user interface. The software is designed to offer more contemporary voice recognition and connectivity features than existing systems used by the company. New MG models based on the E3 platform will also use Horizon Robotics' J6 chip, which is expected to support new developments in driver monitoring, navigation and semi-autonomous functions.
The company has yet to reveal technical specifications or battery details of the Cyber X.
MG Cyber sub-brand launch plan and models
MG's Cyber sub-brand has been created to target younger buyers and is initially aimed at China. However, MG Motor had confirmed global ambitions for its Cyber-branded models, with the Cybester scheduled to launch in India soon. In addition to the Cyber X, MG plans to launch 8 new models over the next two years including sports cars, sedans and SUVs.
