Will be offered with a rear-wheel-drive configuration in India

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the India-spec CLA EV will be offered in two trims: 200 Standard Range and 250+ Long Range. The WLTP-rated range is 542km for the Standard Range version and 792km for the Long Range one.
While details of the CLA 200 are awaited, the international-spec CLA 250+ is powered by an 85kWh battery pack, paired with a rear-axle-mounted motor (RWD) that produces 268hp and 335Nm. A more powerful CLA 350 is also available overseas, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup and delivering a combined 349hp and 515Nm.
Both variants feature an 800V electrical system for rapid charging. A 240kW DC fast charger can add up to 320km of range to the CLA 200 in just 20 minutes, while the 250+ gains up to 400km in the same duration.

Gets connected LED lighting and 18-inch alloy wheels

The Mercedes-Benz CLA EV features a sleek and modern design with clear EV-inspired elements. At the front, it gets a blanked-off grille finished in gloss black, complemented by illuminated tristar elements. The twin-pod LED headlights, a familiar Mercedes-Benz signature, are connected by a slim LED light strip for a wide and futuristic appearance. A similar LED strip at the rear links the tail-lights, giving the EV sedan a cohesive look.
In profile, the CLA EV appears clean and aerodynamic with flush door handles and 18-inch aerodynamically designed AMG alloy wheels. Black cladding along the lower body adds contrast.

Gets dual screens, panoramic glass roof, dual-zone auto AC and more

The CLA EV comes standard with a dual-screen setup comprising a 10.25-inch driver’s display and a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The cabin also features a 3-spoke steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, while the matte silver finish on the centre console adds a sporty touch.
The comfort and convenience package includes powered and heated front seats with memory, a fixed panoramic glass roof and automatic climate control as standard. However, it misses out on the ventilated seats offered in the higher-spec 350 trim abroad.
On the safety front, the CLA is equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree camera with blind-spot monitoring, Level 2 ADAS, a tyre-pressure monitoring system and an electronic parking brake. It has scored a 5-star Euro NCAP rating in 2025.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA EV is expected to be priced at around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom) and will hence serve as an alternative to the Tesla Model Y and Kia EV6.
