While there has been no official announcement from the Italian marque, we have the prices for the Maserati MC20 Cielo and GranCabrio convertibles – the convertible supercar costs Rs 5.31 crore, while the drop-top version of the GranTurismo coupe costs Rs 3.40 crore. Both prices are ex-showroom India, without options.

  1. Maserati MC20 Cielo shares its 630hp, 730Nm V6 engine with the coupe
  2. GranCabrio shares its 550hp, 650Nm V6 engine with the GranTurismo Trofeo

Revealed exactly 3 years ago, the MC20 Cielo was Maserati’s first convertible after the previous-gen GranCabrio was discontinued in 2019. The convertible supercar is powered by the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine seen in the rest of Maserati’s line-up, but produces an identical 630hp and 730Nm as in the MC20 coupe. The brand claims a 0-100kph time of about 3 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds slower than the coupe, and a top speed of over 320kph for the Cielo.

The marginally slower acceleration time is likely due to the additional weight of the folding roof mechanism. Weighing in at 1,560kg, the Cielo is 85kg heavier than the MC20 coupe. The convertible top – it’s a 909mm long, 615mm wide glass roof, unlike many of its contemporaries that use steel or cloth – is said to fold down (or back up) in just 12 seconds. Other than the drop-top body style, the Cielo is identical to the MC20 – from its features list to its options and accessories packages, which was launched back in 2023 at Rs 3.69 crore.

Maserati GranCabrio Trofeo India details

Rs 3.40 crore; fabric roof can be lowered or raised in 14 seconds

Essentially the convertible version of the Maserati GranTurismo coupe, the GranCabrio is a 2+2 seater drop-top that uses the brand’s ubiquitous 3.0-litre V6 engine. In the GranCabrio, it makes the same 550hp and 650Nm of peak torque as in the higher-spec GranTurismo Trofeo, which helps the convertible sprint from 0-100kph in a claimed 3.6 seconds, and on to a top speed of 316kph.

Other than the fabric soft-top, which can be lowered or raised in 14 seconds at speeds of up to 50kph, the GranCabrio has the same features and an extensive list of options and accessories as the GranTurismo. The coupe had arrived in India last year, priced at Rs 2.72 crore for the GranTurismo Modena variant and Rs 2.90 crore for the top-rung Trofeo variant.
