Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall for the discontinued Ignis hatchback regarding a rear parking sensor issue. While we do not have clarity on the number of affected units and the manufacturing timeline, we've got our hands on a document issued by an authorised dealer.
- Dealer-issued document reveals 'controller assembly part' as cause for sensor malfunction.
- Customers are directed to visit the nearest workshop and replace the part free of cost.
What is the issue with the rear parking sensor?
In the document issued by a dealer, the carmaker stated that owing to the controller assembly, it has observed that “ sometimes the reverse parking sensor may not function correctly. For the same reason, MSIL has proactively decided to replace the affected part. The said activity is being carried out to provide a better customer experience.”
What is Maruti Suzuki doing to rectify this issue?
Maruti Suzuki has reached out to owners of the affected cars and requested them to visit an authorised workshop. The part replacement will be done at no cost. Concerned customers have been directed to contact the service centre to schedule an appointment and receive further assistance.
