Interior spy shots of a production-spec test mule of the Mahindra Vision S have popped up online. These reveal some details of the cabin of this homegrown brand’s upcoming SUV, with the exterior already spied in June 2025. Mahindra then unveiled the Vision S concept on Independence Day 2025, giving us a preview of what the production-spec car would be like. Let’s now unpack some of the finer details of this interior noticeable in these spy shots.
- Boxy design is paired with squared windows and thick rear pillars
- Interior highlights include a full-length panoramic sunroof
- Production-spec model to get petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains
Mahindra Vision S interior design
Certain design ideas have been carried over from the concept car.

The new spy shots showcase the front of this upcoming Mahindra SUV’s cabin well. There are several design elements, seen in the Vision S concept, that have made it to this production-spec car. Right off the bat, the dashboard and centre console look similar to what we have seen in the concept. This includes the curved but protruding HVAC vents, a conventional-looking gear lever and a bank of buttons on the lower portion of the centre console – these physical buttons were also accompanied by touch-sensitive ones in the concept.

The camouflaged SUV features squared windows, thick rear pillars and a relatively narrow rear windscreen – all of these design features have also been previewed on the Vision S concept. An old-school analogue instrument cluster with a small multi-information display (MID), fabric seat upholstery and manually adjustable AC dials are dead giveaways that the test mule in these spy shots is possibly a lower- to mid-spec trim.

Top trims of this Mahindra sub-4-metre SUV could debut a brand-new steering wheel design, showcased in the Vision S concept. Meanwhile, the more humdrum steering unit in this test mule is what one would expect on a lower trim level. The concept sported another row of buttons on the modern-looking dashboard, which could make it to the top trims of the production-spec model.
The cabin spy shots further reveal the rear seats, which appear to be of the split-folding type. Aiding practicality here are storage pockets in the doors, cup holders in the centre console and a smaller storage cubby in front of the gear lever.
Mahindra Vision S interior features
Spy shots indicate that even middle-order trims could be equipped decently.

One of the most noticeable features spotted inside the Mahindra Vision S is a full-length panoramic sunroof, although it is unclear if this is a fixed glass unit or one that opens partially. The test mule also features cruise control, a touchscreen infotainment system, a rear-centre armrest, a manual handbrake, adjustable headrests all around and three-point seatbelts for all occupants.
Mahindra Vision S expected powertrain
Interior spy shots reveal the camouflaged tester featuring an automatic gearbox.
The production-spec Mahindra SUV that has been spied clearly comes with an automatic transmission. A look at the rev counter indicates that this test mule could be powered by a diesel engine. This is possibly the brand’s 1.5-litre four-cylinder oil burner that currently does duty in the XUV 3XO, where it produces 117hp and 300Nm of torque. However, it is unclear if this exact powerplant will make it under the bonnet of the upcoming Mahindra Vision S.
Mahindra will also be offering the production-spec Vision S in petrol and hybrid versions. The latter would be an all-new powertrain for the brand, though there are no details about it at this time.
Mahindra Vision S expected launch
The Mahindra Vision S could be slotted somewhere between the XUV 3XO and the larger Scorpio (Classic), but it will be a sub-4-metre SUV. There are no official unveil details available for the production-spec avatar of the Vision S, but we expect the Indian auto major to launch it in 2027.
